Jedediah or Jed, is a true at heart cowboy. He likes riding horses, expanding and protecting his territory and blowing stuff up, even if he is only a few inches tall and made of plastic. He's sarcastic and likes to think he's bigger then he really is, mentally and physically. But he's brave and strong, always there to help or just plain annoy you while he sits in your shirt pocket. He has a comical rivalry with Octavius, the Roman General who's glass case sits next to his own. The two hate one another and are constantly fighting, even when they promised to stop so they could leave their glass cases at night when they come to life. Jed seems to like adventure and is up for anything, as long as he does not have to be near Octavius because they will end up fighting, even if Jed's pistols don't fire, however when they are asked to work together they both refuse and become stubborn. But seeing as they have no choice they do end up working together and find they have a lot of common ground, they're both great leaders who just want whats best for their people. They become really good friends and are not often seen apart after this (they're very close, if you know what i mean). The two make a great team and risk their lives for the good of the museum, they're thought to be dead until they return together a little worse for wear, but alive.

However, Octavius, his very (very) close friend, frees him during the Battle of the Smithsonian, and the two fight Kahmunrah's army of allies. When they find out that they won the battle, they hug each other. Jedediah becomes embarrassed, and pulls away. It is speculated that this is because he likes Octavius. At the very end of the film, he is seen piloting a miniature plane with Octavius as a passenger. Adorable.
